Features
With a focus on reproducing the sound that musicians (performers) recognize and the tone they want to share with their audience, I have conducted over 1,000 listening sessions in my lab, listening room, and workshop. My goal—and what I strive for above all—is to reproduce the tone exactly as it was performed, bringing it as close as possible to the original sound.
❶ Excellent transient response and ❷ the elimination of distortion are crucial to the pursuit of the original sound. The Premium model is a masterpiece assembled with the developer’s heart and soul, embodying a spirit of relentless challenge.
❶ Fast Response
A good tonearm blocks sound leakage and improves conversion efficiency. If leakage occurs during the conversion of electrical signals, leading to insufficient conversion, the response will be slow. To minimize leakage, we use stainless steel throughout the entire structure—from the headshell to the arm tube and down to the base. High-rigidity stainless steel components are arranged in series (directly connected) along the signal path, and the joints are bonded using flush-face joining to ensure a strong connection and a rattle-free structure. We enhance the precision of each individual part, pay meticulous attention to assembly, and perform repeated listening tests throughout the process. We strictly avoid using any soft materials—such as rubber or aluminum—which must never be placed in series along the signal path.
- The base plate also affects the responsiveness.
For the base plate to which the tonearm is attached, we recommend the optional stainless-steel part. By arranging “high-rigidity” stainless steel—which exhibits minimal deformation—in a straight line, we maximize transmission efficiency. To use a bridge as an analogy, imagine a bridge that is not only sturdy itself but also has strong foundations for its piers, with no play at the joints between the foundations and the piers. The same principle applies when mounting the tonearm to the base plate. Through repeated testing and prototyping, we concluded that a stainless-steel base plate is essential for the turntable to fully realize the Premium’s characteristics. Furthermore, the tonearm and base plate are precisely designed and manufactured to ensure a strong joint and eliminate any play.
❷ Eliminating Distortion Noise
We use high-density stainless steel for the arm pipe—which serves as the sound pathway—and arrange damping material in parallel to reliably enhance distortion noise countermeasures. Furthermore, the weight section is made of stainless steel, and its tip features a hybrid structure with tungsten embedded and rubber-damped to prevent vibration. Addressing distortion noise is a continuous process: eliminating one source of distortion often makes other sources more noticeable. Based on a thorough understanding of material properties, we patiently and meticulously implement distortion-reduction measures one by one.
- The IFC (Inside Force Canceller) is also a source of distortion.
One source of distortion is the IFC (Inside Force Canceller), which is installed to prevent needle skipping and improve tracking performance. In fact, this component itself can be a source of distortion. The pivot point of the Premium tonearm features high-precision radial and thrust bearings, resulting in significantly improved initial response and tracking performance. Therefore, it is possible to remove the IFC. We strongly recommend removing the IFC, as it is a cause of distortion noise. (See below for removal instructions.)

Design and Structure
Arm Pipe
The arm pipe has a significant impact on sound quality. In the Premium SUS ver.1 (initial model), vibration damping was achieved using carbon fiber and high-grade polyester fiber; in the upgraded ver.2, only high-density carbon fiber is used to enhance the vibration damping effect.
◉The success rate for packing carbon fiber “tightly” is less than 50 percent. Assembly requires advanced technical skills and experience.
◉Low-resistance silver wire is wrapped in silk thread; four strands of this silk-wrapped wire are then bundled together and wrapped again in silk thread. This bundle is wrapped in carbon fiber and inserted into the arm pipe—a process that requires a high level of technical skill and know-how. This design provides vibration damping from both sides—preventing distortion from the silver wire and the arm pipe itself—resulting in sound that more closely resembles the original source.

Weight Section
The weight assembly of the Premium model features a five-layer damper structure designed to accommodate a wide frequency range and absorb distortion across each frequency band.
The main weight incorporates heavy tungsten embedded in stainless steel to position the center of gravity closer to the pivot point. The tungsten is bonded with rubber, which also serves to dampen vibrations.

Pivot Points and Product Materials
The arm body is primarily constructed from hard stainless steel. While machining this material was extremely challenging, the result is sound quality of unparalleled excellence. The joints between components are designed to ensure a precise, flush contact surface, minimizing the use of adhesives as much as possible.
If the pivot—which is key to sound quality—has a flimsy structure, it directly affects sound quality. Four large-diameter bearings provide firm support, preventing resonance and wobble while enhancing tracking performance. In particular, the lower bearing along the vertical axis employs a high-precision thrust bearing. Assembled with meticulous care, this support structure enables the heavy tonearm to move with high sensitivity, significantly improving tracking performance.

Tone Arm Deflection Rate
We took great care to ensure the design did not result in a “wild” structure, like swinging a straight rod around. Imagine swinging an L-shaped rod—it places unnecessary torsional stress on your hand. With that in mind, we positioned a “vibration-absorbing structure” at the most precise location to effectively dampen distortion.
Inside Force Canceller (IFC)
True to our motto, “Simple is best,” we designed the Inside Force Canceller, armrest, and arm lifter to be easily removable. Removing unnecessary components from the tonearm reduces distortion and results in a clearer sound quality.

Headshell
The monolithic, machined-from-a-single-piece construction significantly reduces vibration loss. Furthermore, by eliminating all unnecessary material as much as possible, we’ve achieved a weight comparable to aluminum despite being made of stainless steel, resulting in an ultra-lightweight structure that firmly supports the entire cartridge. The carbon fiber on the top absorbs unwanted signals. The slim, 10mm-wide design provides support close to the cartridge’s core. By connecting directly to this core, vibration loss is reduced and sound quality is further enhanced.
